Yelena Harbick is an expert in Russian fine and decorative arts and represents Bonhams in Russian Club of Financial Directors.
Yelena Harbick joined Bonhams in New York in 2008 as a Senior Specialist of Russian Fine and Decorative Arts. She is responsible for consigning Russian art in North and South America. Within this role, she has combined her expertise and knowledge in the field of Russian painting, decorative arts, Fabergé and icons with strong research abilities and academic training. She is responsible for US based consignments and directly oversees the management and coordination of VIP clients in Russia.
Harbick was previously employed as the Vice President and Senior Specialist in Russian Paintings at Christie’s auction house. During her four-year tenure, the Russian Department grew exponentially.
Prior to her auction career, Harbick spent more than 10 years working at the Hillwood Museum and Gardens in Washington, D.C., serving as Assistant Curator during her last four years. Her curatorial work was supplemented by her graduate studies at the Art History and Archaeology Department at the University of Maryland from 2003 to 2006.
Born in Russia, Harbick received a Master of History and Languages Degree from the State Moscow University in 1985 and taught history in various universities in Moscow prior to moving to the US in 1991.
